Our challenge

We were matched with the iDepression project through Tech To The Rescue, which we're one of the founding members of. How We Made It Happen

Design

A decision was made to use the existing branding of the IFightDepression and update it so that the new site would visually link to the leading site. We spent time making sure that the imagery for the website was a good fit for both the brand and the difficult subject matter that was at the heart of the product.

The resulting designs were uplifting but at the same time reassuring. As Artur Koniarev, Product Designer, says: “The idea was to show that it’s okay to struggle and that by visiting the website they were already on the way to getting help. We featured imagery which included people of different ages, and races - because depression is something that doesn’t discriminate. We also made sure that the interface and navigation were intuitive, so users could find the information they needed in no time at all.”

Development

The website backend was built by one of our Senior developers using Python, and the Strapi (Node-based) CMS was selected for its flexibility and the fact that it enabled editors to streamline content across any device.

Localazy was used to handle different language versions of the site - with the main priority being the translation of the website into Ukrainian.

The Outcome

The website is now live and can be viewed here. It’s still very early days, but the hope is that it will hold the details of 25-30 thousand specialists in the database and will be used by more than 300 thousand people per day.

We’re also very pleased to see that the iFightDepression tool has been translated into Ukrainian, which means that Ukrainian refugees spread all over Europe can now have access to the help they need when dealing with psychological trauma.
